After his 2015 romantic revenge drama Ai, magnum opus maker Shankar has joined hands with Superstar Rajnikanth for the third time after Sivaji and Endhiran with the sequel to the latter, the SciFi thriller 2.0 which has released amidst humongous hype. 2.0 begins with humans losing mobiles and this sudden abnormality is attributed to Akshay Kumar, who's now out to seek revenge on humans as a birdman, and it's the perfect time for scientist Vaseegaran to unleash and revive his beloved creation, the supreme powerful Robot Chitti to save mankind from destruction. Who won the battle between the Birdman and Chitti is what 2.0 is all about.
Superstar Rajinikanth in his dual avatars, especially Chitti is mass personified and is a complete entertainer, while Akshay Kumar is menacing and horrifying at his best, and Amy Jackson is sizzling. The movie offers plenty of goosebumps moments and the VFX is top notch with grand visuals and the stunning cat and mouse game between Chitti and Akshay is presented in an engaging manner.
With stunning BGM by AR Rahman and splendid visuals by Nirav Shah, Shankar achieves box office glory yet again with 2.0 with Superstar in massive form. Overall, A Perfect Enjoyable Entertainer and stands out in the crowd of average sequels and trashy attempts. The story, special effects and extremely zealous direction makes this a joy to watch and memorable.
