Aadai aka Aamae Tamil, Telugu Movie Review, Ratings

What Is Good

  • Amala Paul
  • Cinematography

What Is Bad

  • Dialogues
  • Forced humour
  • Music
  • Adults Only content
Bottom Line: Aadai's naked marketing fails big time

Story

Actress Amala Paul who was last seen on screen in the psycho-thriller Ratsasan is back on screen in the social thriller Aadai, which had created ripples with Amala Paul's dare to bare naked act for the movie. With the movie expected to feature many more nude shots and shocking violent content and a hard-hitting message, here's team AP Herald's exclusive first on net Aadai review.
Kamini works in a TV channel and conducts a prank show and is always involved in bets for kick and one day she bets to get naked for a night in her office building and the next day she's left Naked and is stuck alone. Now she could not come out without clothes and couldn't find a way. Who made her nude and how she got out of the situation is what Aadai is all about.

Star Performance

Amala Paul gives a decent act for most parts of the movie while in several sequences, she overacts and has done a daring act appearing in nude scenes. Sri Ranjani is good as her mother and gives an emotional act. Ramya Subramanian as Jennifer gives a new angle and gets a meaty role and is apt. Vivek Prasanna is a revelation and the rest of the cast including Adi and Gopi are adequate.

Techinical Team

Background score by Pradeep Kumar - Oorka is scintillating and of the songs, Nee vanavilla and Bakthi metal blend well with the sequences. Cinematography by Vijay Karthik captures the events well and the sensational shots are captured aesthetically. Editing by Shafique Mohammed Ali could have been better as there are several dragged episodes.

Analysis

Director Rathna Kumar who made a neat debut with the romantic comedy Meyadha Maan is back this time with a bold content featuring the even bolder version of Amala Paul who's gone nude for the movie, and her naked act itself had created hype around the movie, and Rathna Kumar has only partially met the expectations. The first half moves in an entertaining manner but while the second half was expected to take a serious turn, it turns a survival drama and ends with a forced message that ultimately goes against the movie itself. All said the team could have focused on screenplay rather than Naked act.
